¡Tengo Miedo!, Zumito and More: The Memes Behind Our Designs
Some merch puts a face on a shirt. This merch puts a catchphrase on it. Here's what is on each of our eight Auronplay designs, with the Spanish translated.
What does ¡Tengo miedo! mean?
"I'm scared!" It's one of my best-known catchphrases, a panicked line my viewers turned into a meme years ago. Back in 2017 I joked online that I was seeing the meme everywhere. Our Tengo Miedo design shows it as a screen grab: a jumpy figure in a gaming chair with the line in big white capitals.
What is zumito?
Zumito means "little juice". It's my playful no-to-drugs joke, where a carton of juice stands in for something less innocent. Our Zumito design turns it into a cartoon love triangle: a spiky-haired guy stares at a strutting ZUMITO juice carton while the rolled-up character beside him grabs his shoulder.
What else is in the collection?
- Wordmark: the AURONPLAY name in the spiky, hand-drawn capitals from the cover of AuronPlay, el libro.
- I Heart Auron: I, a big red heart and AURON. Auron is the name people use for me.
- Anti Social Social Club: bold arched letters around three deadpan cartoon girls, with "You can't sit with us" in between.
- Scarf Creature: a shaggy orange creature with a teal face and a striped scarf.
- Candy Rope Doll: a painted rag doll dangling from a rope of stacked sweets, for darker jokes.
- Gummy Bears: a bright photo of a heap of gummy bears.
Which one should I pick first?
For new viewers: the Wordmark or I Heart Auron, which say who you watch at a glance. For the chat regulars: Tengo Miedo or Zumito, the jokes only the chat gets. For bold colour: the Scarf Creature or the Gummy Bears.
Every design comes on tees, long sleeves, crewnecks and hoodies, with kids' and youth sizes too. Browse the collection.
